Kindergarten will be having Friday Fun Day tomorrow, Fri. Feb. 26. Students may bring a stuffed animal and/or wear/bring slippers to class. We are celebrating the end of our testing!

Iowa Tests of Basic Skills have been completed in kindergarten.

Zion's Talent Show is Friday night, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. There are some talented Zion students who will be performing songs, dances, playing musical instruments or doing other types of entertainment. (KPM will have an opportunity to see some of these acts at a 1:45 p.m. presentation.)

Lutheran Schools Week is March 7-12. There will be special activities each day. Wednesday of that week (March 10) will be Grandparents' Day. Grandparents or special guests are invited to come and visit our classroom anytime that day. They may stay as long as they would like. (Our schedule for that day is different than it is for grades 1-8.) Invite your grandparents or special guests today!

Iowa Tests of Basic Skills will be taken next week. Please try to make sure that your child is in school and on time so that we can get our testing completed as soon as possible. It's also a good idea to make sure the children get plenty of rest (a good night's sleep) and eat a good breakfast. The test results should be back in time to be shared at the March parent conferences.

Chapel offerings are currently going to help with needs in Haiti following the earthquake.

Lent begins next Wednesday (Ash Wednesday). During Lent our chapel services are the 10:00 a.m. worship services. Parents are welcome to join us.

March 8-13 we will be celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week with special activities each day. Wednesday of that week will be Grandparents Day, where grandparents will be able to come and visit our school. You may want to let them know so that they can arrange their schedules. More information will be coming as it gets closer.

There is no school for KAM on Friday, Feb. 12 or on Friday, Mar. 12. There is no school or daycare on Monday, Feb. 15 for Presidents' Day.

The yearbook deadline for this year is Monday, Feb.8 If you would like to order one, please turn in your form by then.

Both classes will have their Valentine parties on Wed. Feb. 10. Parents are welcome to join us at 10:00 a.m./2:00 p.m. Cards and treats will be shared at that time. We have a number of things already being brought for the party, so you may want to check with me before you sign up to bring something.

Zion is hosting its annual basketball tournament this weekend. Games begin at 4:15 p.m. today (Friday), but Zion doesn't play until 8:00 p.m. If they win, they will play at 1:30 p.m. on Sat. If they lose, they will play at 10:45 a.m. The championship game is at 5:30 p.m. At halftime of that game, the Jumping Eagles, a professional jump rope group, will perform. (It's fun to watch!)

Chapel offerings for the next few weeks will be going to Haiti to assist with the people affected by the recent earthquake.

Just a reminder that KAM does not have class next Fri. Feb. 12. KPM will have class from 8:00- 11:00 a.m.

There is no school on Mon. Feb. 15. There is no daycare that day either.
