Book order forms went home today. There are several orders to choose from. Books may be ordered by returning the form and a check to school or by going online and ordering there using a credit card. Our classroom actually earns free books if parents order online. Book order forms go home about the first week of each month.

Zion's PTL will be having their first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 1, at 6:30 p.m. All parents are members of this group and are encouraged to attend and take part in its activities. Remeber to sign up to work at the kindergarten booth at the PTL Carnival on Friday, September 25th.

Ground-breaking for Zion's new school addition will take place Sunday, August 30, at 9:30 a.m. on the south side of the school. Everyone is welcome to come for this special occasion.

Zion will be collecting food for the Brighton Food Bank during the month of September. Tables will be set up around the school for collecting donations. This is a good opportunity to HONOR JESUS BY SERVING OTHERS.

We have been very busy this week getting into our routines and learning our schedules. The students have been enjoying their "specials" classes and getting to know those teachers. We won't start going to the school library until after Labor Day.

A reminder that the policy forms are to be signed and returned if they have not already been turned in. A Highlights magazine order form was also sent home today. Returning that form will help us to earn rewards for our classroom.

The PTL Carnival is coming Friday, Sept. 25th. Workers for the kindergarten booth will be needed, so check your schedule to see what time would work for you to help out. Thanks!

Zion collects the General Mills boxtops for Education. There is a container in our classroom. The school earns 10 cents for each boxtop turned in. This money is used to buy books and library materials.

Welcome to Kindergarten

Welcome to Zion Kindergarten!

Classes began Thurs. Aug. 13. There are 24 students in the a.m. class (KAM) and 17 students in the p.m. class (KPM).

Schedules were sent home with the students. Special activities and classes include:

Chapel - Wednesdays at 8:10 a.m. or 12:45 p.m.
Art - Thursdays at 10:15 a.m./2:15 p.m.
Computer - Thursdays at 8:15 a.m./12:15 p.m.
Music - Thursdays at 8:45 a.m./Mondays at 12:45 p.m.
P.E.(Gym) - Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 a.m./1:00 p.m.
(Gym shoes should be worn on gym days.)
